The Ronin Legacy BJJ Gi pays tribute to the founding fathers of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
The Ronin Brand logo wrapped within a shuriken is patched onto each arm of the gi. The years 1878 & 1913 are fully embroidered underneath the patches.
1878 – This is the birth year of Mitsuyo Maeda. He was also known as Count, or Conde Koma. Maeda was fundamental in the development of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including through his teaching of Carlos Gracie and others of the Gracie family.
1913 – This is the birth year of Grandmaster Helio Gracie. He, along with his brother Carlos Gracie, founded the martial art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, known internationally as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
Thanks to both of these men, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is now the fastest growing martial art trained around the world. It’s birthchild, MMA, is the fastest growing sport in the world.
Inside jacket – Fully digital printed design created by Joey Sylvester represents half of Brazil & Japan.
Pant bottom leg – Kanji for the work “Legacy”. This is fully embroidered.
Materials for jacket – 100% cotton 450GSM Pearl Weave – Pre-shrunk with non scented fabric softner. Lapel consists of thick firm Eva foam wrapped with 14oz. Canvas material.
Materials for Pants – 100% cotton 10oz. twill material. The same used on the Ronin Samurai model. High quality Stretchy rope string that’s guaranteed not to fray/fall apart.
As tested, this gi jacket will shrink 1-1.5″ over time.
